NEWSLETTER NO. 36 OF 16 OCTOBER 2000

An apology

We are sorry that we could not publish the newsletters due on 16 February and 16 June and this one is shorter than expected.

1. NEWS AND CURRENT AFFAIRS

1.1 Rationalism of Veer Savarkar ( in Marathi )

This book of Mr Godbole was published at a ceremony in Thane near Mumbai on 13 February 2000. Godbole and his wife flew to Mumbai specifically for the ceremony. Dr M D Paradkar, a Sanskrut scholar of Mumbai University was in chair. Some 150 people attended.

Loksatta, a popular Marathi daily of Mumbai published the news of the programme and some details of the book in its issue of 13 February 2000, on page 3

For obtaining copies of the book please contact Godbole

Godbole has started work on an English version of the book. He would like to complete it by February 2003. The Preface and Part 1 would be available on E Mail by the end of this year.

1.2 What Godbole noticed in Hindusthan ( particularly Maharashtra )

We form our opinions from what we see on the BBC or the NBC. But, there have been several improvements in Hindusthan. For example :-

(i) Sahar International Airport ( Mumbai ) has been renamed Chhatrapati

    Shivaji Airport.

(ii) Facilities for clearing passengers at this airport have improved remarkably.

Godbole came out of the airport 2 hours earlier than he expected.

(iii) In Mumbai, road traffic moves much more quickly than ever before. Much of the credit goes to extensive network of Fly-overs built by the Shiva Sena  / BJP Government.

(iv) Roads to and from the airport are well sign posted.

(v) On roads, handrails are erected for the safety of pedestrians.

(vi) Interior decorations are used extensively in houses. Good linos are used which make the floors easy to clean.

(vii)  One relation had a CD listing ALL telephone numbers in Maharashtra.

Godbole was able to find out the latest telephone number of his friend whom he had not met for six years.

(viii) Solar energy is widely used for supply of hot water and for cooking.

(ix) In Railway carriages, seats are reserved for the Senior citizens

1.3 Britain continues to humiliate Indians

On 19 May 1999 Kate Ginn reported for Daily Mail (page 19) - Asian cricket test : Hundreds denied World Cup visas as officials quiz fans on the game

Cricket fans from Asia are being tested on the game and their teams before being granted visas to enter England for the World Cup.

WHILE THOUSANDS OF SUPPORTERS FROM INDIA, PAKISTAN, BANGLADESH AND SHRI LANKA HAVE TO PROVE THEY ARE GENUINE FANS, THOSE FROM SOUTH AFRICA, NEW ZEALAND AND AUSTRALIA HAVE ONLY BEEN ASKED TO SHOW PROOF OF A RETURN TICKET BEFORE BEING ALLOWED IN.

One Shri Lankan man was grilled for 40 minutes by British officials in Colombo and asked, " who captained Shri Lanka when they won the World Cup? which other teams are in their group for the current cup and where and when is their opening match ?"

Indian fans applying for visas have been asked similar questions, including who is their country's leading batsman. Other questions have been what does LBW stand for and how do umpires signal for a four and a six.

Several hundred Asians have been stopped from coming to the tournament billed as a carnival of world cricket and a show-piece for multicultural Britain.......

One, a Colombo businessman who received a visa after passing the test, said, 'It was a totally humiliating experience.'

The Foreign Office said that the aim was to stop bogus fans getting entry into Britain. 'People from Australia could be asked similar questions. There is definitely no racism here.'

Note :- There is a catch here ' COULD BE'. in other words a non-white person

' WILL BE ' asked questions. As long as the visitors have a return tickets and funds to stay in Britain, their knowledge of cricket does not matter.

Such imperial arrogance will continue as long as Britain knows that India will not retaliate. Even if India was powerful, Indians will not be seeking a REVENGE. That is why the British always praise Gandhi and Nehru.

1.4 British attitude towards homosexuality

On Tuesday 29 September 1998 BBC2 produced a programme in the TIMEWATCH series. The title was ' Sex and War '.

It investigated the hidden history of homosexuality in the British Armed Forces. An estimated 250,000 homosexuals fought for British during the Second World War. At the time homosexuality was still a criminal offence, but authorities turned a blind eye. After all they needed men to fight and carry out dare-devil acts. So, homosexuality did not matter.

The same applied after the Second World War, because Britain faced acute shortage of manpower for the armed forces. But as soon as the population grew, homosexuality was frowned upon.

What's new ? Did not the British treat black soldiers stationed in Britain during Second World War, in the same way ? They were respected during the war. But, once the war was over they were not welcome.

1.5 Why is Great Britain ' Great ' ?

In 1984 Woman Police Constable Yvonne Fletcher was shot in the back by a bullet fired from the first floor of the Libyan People's Bureau in London. This happened while she policed a demonstration outside the Libyan embassy. She died later from her injuries. The gunman and 21 embassy staff were asked to leave and return to Libya. Britain severed diplomatic ties with Libya.

On 23 November 1999 David Shaw reported for Evening Standard. He says,

" British envoy bound for Libya after 250,000 pounds payout."

" A British ambassador is to head for Tripoli within weeks, after Colonel Gadaffy finally paid compensation for the killing of policewoman Yvonne Fletcher. ... The move comes after the handover of the money, understood to be 250,000 pounds which represents the final hurdle to resuming full diplomatic relations with the Libyans."

" The agreement was outlined in a Commons statement by Foreign Secretary Robin Cook in the summer after Libya accepted full responsibility for the murder."

" Tory M.P Sir Eddy Taylor, who fought the Fletcher family cause and returned from Libya with a 'blood money' cheque for 250,000 pounds for the Police Dependants Fund in 1991, said today that it should have been resolved years ago and queried where the uncashed cheque had been in the meanwhile. A Foreign Office spokesman said today : ' It was refused by the Government, the Metropolitan Police and the Fletchers because there was no admission of responsibility. The cheque was returned to the Libyans."

Our Comment :- Now we know why Britain is still Great Britain. No amount of oil or business opportunities would persuade Britain to resume diplomatic ties with Libya till they accepted responsibility of murder of Yvonne Fletcher. They put pressure on Libya for 16 years.

And look at India! During recent war in Kargil (June 1999) Pakistan handed over bodies of six Indian soldiers which were without their vital parts. Their eyeballs had been dug out, the noses, ears and genitals chopped off. There were several cigarette burns on their bodies showing the barbaric and inhuman manner in which they were tortured and killed.

What does Government of India do ? It still wants to resume talks with Pakistan and have normal relations with them. We feel no shame in playing cricket with them. GOI should have firmly stated - NO PEACE WITH PAKISTAN UNTIL THE PERPETRATORS ARE BROUGHT TO JUSTICE. We cannot even utter those words, let alone act accordingly.

1.6 Hindu Awakening at last ?

Pakistan sponsored terrorism in India continues unabated - that is no surprise. But, when about 100 pilgrims to Amarnath were killed by Muslim terrorists Hindus in England became furious. Dr Sunil Poshakavale of Birmingham organised a protest march. On 6 September 2000 the weather was cold, windy and showery. But still some 350 Hindus gathered in Hyde Park and later demonstrated in front of the Pakistani Embassy in London against the murders of innocent Hindu pilgrims.

Let us hope that such demonstrations are spontaneous in future.

1.7 Godbole's works on Floppy Disk (E Mail)

Following works of Godbole are available on a floppy disk:-

(i) Why Rewrite Indian History ?

(ii) Taj Mahal and the Great British Conspiracy

(iii) Many of the past newsletters

It is anticipated that his first book - Taj Mahal : Simple Analysis of a Great Deception would be available on a floppy disk by February 2001.

1.8 Where is Dr Hedgwar's biography ?

* The RSS was founded by Dr Hedgewar in October 1925 i.e 75 years ago. And yet there is no biography of this great man in English!! WHY ?

* While in Pune, Godbole inquired about such a book in the main RSS bookshop. He had no luck. During the Hindu Marathon in Kingsbury, London in July 2000 Godbole went to the stall of Hindu Sahitya Kendra. The worker there asked Godbole to go to their main shop in Leicester. When Godbole went to Leicester, the manager of the shop said, " I had personally gone to Bangalore where RSS publication has its head office. I had no luck "

* There is a biography in Marathi written by one Mr Palkar, in 1957. Godbole does have a copy of the 1987 edition of this biography. But, there is no biography in English.

How is this organisation going to do any good for the Hindu society, when it cannot give information about its own founder ?

2. AROUND LONDON TOUR OF PLACES ASSOCIATED WITH INDIAN FREEDOM FIGHTERS

2.1 Mr Godbole conducted two tours

3 TAJ MAHAL: FACTS AND FANTASIES

Godbole conducted a slide show on 13 February 2000 at Shahu Market, Thane. About 150 people attended. The programme was well received.

Another private slide show was arranged on 17 February 2000 at the home of one of Godbole's sisters

4 MARATHI SAMMELAN IN GERMANY

4.1 Swastika in the Roman times in Germany

Mr and Mrs Godbole went to Germany in June for an European Marathi Sammelan in Gladbeck. They stayed in Koln for three nights. While visiting the Museum of Antiquities next to the famous Cathedral in Koln, Godbole noticed several anti-clockwise ( Tantrik or Puranik ) Swastikas on the floor of a Roman Villa. He has asked a friend to send him a photograph of the same.

4.2 If you lose your mother tongue you lose everything.

During the Marathi Sammelan, there was a programme by one Sanjay Upadhye. During a narrative of three hours he forcefully made a plea for preserving the Marathi language, our culture, our values. He had a good position with Canara Bank in Mumbai. But he left that job and has become a preacher for preserving Marathi language ( the same goes for all other Indian languages ). He strongly condemned our blind following of Western traditions. He said that this will lead to loss of our identity. Godbole was very pleased to meet Mr Upadhaye. They had good discussions together.

4.3 Foreign rule in Germany

While site seeing in Germany, Godbole realised that the French had ruled Germany for quite some time. Even after the French Revolution of 1789, the French had been fighting with the Germans. Koln was ruled by the French. Our conception that Germany was a powerful nation is quite wrong. Germany was not even a united country until Hitler came to power.

5 WHAT CAN THE BJP GOVERNMENT DO ?

In his message 'London Calling' of 15 November 1999 Godbole has suggested -

As the BJP will now be able to form a new government in New Delhi, they should do the following :-

(1) Open up all the secret files right up to 1968. If the British government can do that why not the Government of India ?. The betrayal by Congress leaders in 1947, the decision to implicate Savarkar in Gandhi Assassination trial ... ALL such papers must now be available to the public.

(2) Sonia Gandhi is to be given protection by the Special Police. This is an excellent opportunity to keep an eye on all her activities.

(3) The Nehru Centre, London has becoming a centre for anti-Hindu propaganda.  Bring it under the control of the Indian High Commissioner. There are many ways of doing this.

6. BEHAVIOUR OF CHRISTIANS AND MUSLIMS TODAY

6.1 THE CHRISTIANS

6.1.1 NUNS ACCUSED OF ENSLAVING 'CHILDREN OF SIN'

The Sunday Times of 28 February 1999 carried a disturbing report by Mary Durran from Montreal, Canada. She writes :-

Her only sin was to be born of the rape of her 15 year old mother in fiercely conservative Quebec in 1947. Yet Alice Quinton has paid a terrible price for her illegitimacy.

She and 3,000 other 'children of sin' were wrongly classified as mentally ill when their orphanages, run by the Roman Catholic Church, were converted into psychiatric institutions in 1954 so that they could qualify for funding from the federal government.  Many children were subjected to years of physical abuse.

More than 40 years later, they are demanding compensation and a public apology. They accuse the government of having illegally imprisoned healthy children who should have been at school.

Quinton, 52, is still haunted by her time at St Julian's psychiatric hospital near Quebec city, where she was incarcerated at the age of seven with 500 other healthy orphans and 900 mentally ill adults. She remembers a childhood of dark cells and tranquillising drugs.

Once, accused of 'telling tales', she was punished by a nun who placed her in a straitjacket, strapped her to a metal bedframe and, she says, left her there for three weeks with a chamber pot under the bed. " The nuns tormented us and treated us as slaves. They made us pay for the sins of our parents" she said.

Illiterate and unskilled when she was released at 23, Quinton was afraid to seek help in case social workers sent her back to St Julian's. She married, but left her husband, saying he had beaten their three children.

Most of the orphans, like Quinton, ended up unemployed or in menial jobs, struggling to adapt to life beyond the confines of an institution.

Bruno Roy is one of the few who has succeeded in confronting the ghosts of his past.

A retired teacher with a doctorate in literature, he was 11 when his orphanage, Mount Providence, was one of 12 reclassified as an asylum.

" Overnight, my daily routine changed to bathing mentally ill patients, followed by sitting in a rocking chair," he said.

Six hundred psychiatric patients were brought to Mount Providence. Two hundred abandoned children were adopted or returned to their families; 400 others, including Roy, were labelled insane or retarded.

Roy is now president of the Committee of Institutionalised Duplessis Orphans - named after Maurice Duplessis, the arch-conservative premier of Quebec from 1936-39 and 1944-59.

Despite a huge public outcry in Quebec, however, the orphans are still waiting for an apology, let alone any compensation. Last week some protested in straitjackets outside provincial government offices after the Catholic church declined to express any regret.

" I wholeheartedly defend the devoted religious women who gave 40 to 50 years of their lives working in the institutions. They shouldn't have to make apologies," said Cardinal Jean-Claude Turcotte, a senior representative of the Catholic church in Canada. He described the orphans as "victims of life", and challenged them to prove any allegations of abuse.

A group action by the Douplesis orphans for compensation failed after a court ruling that each individual's complaint was different. A police investigation of 241 complaints concluded that the evidence of abuse was too old and unreliable.

One orphan has won his case : Antoine Ceran, a former Mount Providence resident, pressed for a criminal trial of a lay member of staff who sexually assaulted him while he was restrained in a straitjacket. Richard Burton, the staff member, was found guilty but was considered too old to go to prison. No damages were awarded to Ceran.

The Quebec government is coming under increasing pressure over the issue. Daniel Jackoby, the province's ombudsman, has urged it to open a public inquiry, apologise and grant compensation. The government has responded only by correcting the medical files of those who were wrongly classified as mentally ill.

Roy is not giving up. " The fact that I managed to emerge intact should not be allowed to justify the monstrous system we had to live through", he said. " When a government does what Duplessis did, there are moral consequences to pay for. That's why I continue to struggle."

NOTE :- This just goes to show how little we know about the Christians today

6.1.2 CHRISTIAN FUNDAMENTALISM IN AMERICA: THE OMINOUS SIGNS

On 5 November 1999, Damian Whitworth reported from Washington for The Times . He writes --

" Teacher forced to quit in clash over evolution."

The row between Darwinists and creationists in the American Bible Belt has claimed its first victim. Stan Roth, a biology teacher, regarded as a "legend" in Kansas, has retired, claiming that he has been forced from his job after four decades by the resurgence of Christian conservatives who denounce evolution.

In August the Kansas Board of Education removed Charles Darwin's theory of evolution in what was regarded as a test case and signalled victory for the creationalist movement, which favours a literal reading of the Book of Genesis. The move was regarded by scientists as one of the most serious blows since a Tennese teacher, John Thomas Scopes was put on trial and fined in 1925 for teaching evolution in defiance of state law. That verdict  was overturned by the Supreme Court..

Mr Roth has now gone public about his ordeal in the run up to the board of education's decision.

Students were going to classes carrying Bible to protest against the teaching of evolution. At the end of a lesson, Anna Harvey, 16, a strong minded pupil who attended a conservative church, asked him : " Mr Roth ? When are we going to learn about creationism ?" She says that he then exploded. He went  off on me. He told me : " When are you going to stop believing that crap your parents teach you ?" He says that he was exasperated by a 'snot-nosed twit' and told her that ' non-scientific ' rubbish had no place in his classroom.

Miss Harvey's father protested with a letter writing campaign and months later Mr Roth was called in by the school principal and told, a year before he was due to retire that he was being reassigned to a non-teaching job looking after scientific equipment.

" I was shocked," he said, " The moment he said it I felt tears ". He decided to retire immediately.

Joseph Snyder, the principal of Lawrence Free State High School, said that his removal from the classroom 'has absolutely nothing to do with creationism' but more to do with Mr Roth's treatment of students. Mr Roth admits that he could be gruff. He would target pupils who dozed off with blackboard cleaners and fire extinguishers.

He was regarded, however, as an inspiring teacher who dedicated his life, even his holidays in teaching. " He is a legend in the state."

Steve Mechels, a fellow Kansas biology teacher, told The Washington Post.

" To see the way he worked with kids, it was amazing."

He was a controversial teacher and in his last years before retirement administrators decided to make an example of him to appease the religious right." said Pamela McEiwee, a former pupil of Mr Roth.

Elsewhere in Kansas the pitfalls of teaching evolution have become clear. Kansas State University says that its biology department has been struggling to fill positions because teachers are unhappy with the political climate.

NOTE :- Why should Hindus be concerned ?

The dangers are far reaching. This right wing fanaticism is spreading in America. And these fanatics eventually will force the Indian Government to facilitate easy spread of Christianity in India.

6.1.3 SHUT MOSQUES, SAYS CARDINAL.

On 2 October 2000 Bruce Johnson from Rome reported for the Daily Telegraph. He says, " A leading contender for the papacy has suggested that Italy's 130 mosques should be closed."

" Cardinal Giacomo Biffi, Archbishop of Bologna, added that no new mosques should be allowed to open as a 'reciprocal' measure to those applied in some Islamic countries. He called on the government to give Muslims living in Italy only the same rights as some Islamic countries allowed Christians, He said that in Islamic countries it was impossible to practice Christianity."

" The Cardinal recently caused a storm by saying Roman Catholic immigrants should be given preference over other religions."

Cardinal in call to keep Moslems out.

The Daily Mail ( of London ) reported the news slightly differently. On 15 September 2000 Chris Logan from Rome reported, " A Cardinal yesterday called for Moslem immigrants to be barred from Italy to save the country from identity."

He ( the Cardinal ) added 'Europe must return to Christianity or Islam will win'.

Vatican failed to distance itself from his (Cardinal's) views, instead describing his as 'one of Italy's most important theologians.'

Cardinal Biff's views outraged leaders of the country's 1.3 million Moslems. The Archbishop told a gathering of 300 priests near Bologna that Italy's identity was being threatened by the influx of followers of Islam which was 'incompatible' with traditional Italian life.

Immigrants from Catholic regions such as Latin America, the Phillipines and the former colony of Eitrea should be given preference, he said.

Cardinal Biffi said he had warned a government minister involved with immigration there would be 'civil unrest' if nothing was done. ' I told him I was amazed they hadn't realised this yet' he said.

' I told him I didn't know how he would cope with polygamy, discrimination towards women, the ideology of Moslems who see politics and religion as the same thing. The criteria for allowing in immigrants can't be just economic and social. We need to be seriously concerned about saving the identity of the nation.'

' It's a question of respect for the majority. There is no right of invasion. If Europe doesn't return to Christianity Islam will win.'

Reports said that his audience 'applauded without visible dissent'

Asked his views of priests who helped immigrants without asking what their religion was, the Cardinal replied, 'I say evangelism is an important aim of the Church, assistance is not.'

' The Church should not get involved in resolving social problems.'

Italians have become increasingly anxious about the flood of immigrants in recent years, especially from North Africa and the Balkans, particularly Albania. Boatloads of refugees from the Balkans arrive weekly at ports in the south of Italy. Although a small minority, Moslems have overtaken Jews as Italy's second-largest religious group.

Some half a million Moslem immigrants are currently registered, compared to 350,000 Catholic immigrants. But many more are in Italy without permits.

The head of Vatican's immigration council, Archbishop Franscesco Gioia said, ' Cardinal Biffi is one of Italy's most important theologians and he isn't someone who speaks nonsense. He may be provocative but he is always careful. Catholics are against racism. But you must have reciprocity among all the social and cultural sectors and with Moslems this is not easy.'

At a European synod at the Vatican last year, several bishops sounded an alarm about Islam making inroads into Europe

NOTE :- Look how vigilant the Europeans are about the threat of Islam. We need to learn from them.

6.1.4 CATHOLICS PULL OUT OF JOINT TEACHING.

On 12 May 2000 Ruth Gledhill reported for The Times. She says, " A sectarian dispute over the fate of a joint Anglican and Roman Catholic school has split the church and education establishment in Oxford. The new Archbishop of Birmingham, the Right Rev Vincent Nichols, has decided to withdraw his diocese's support from St Augustine's school in Oxford, one of a handful in England run jointly by Church of England and Catholics education authorities.

Because the Catholic Church owns the premises of the school, an upper school with 622 pupils, Archbishop Nichol's decision will almost certainly mean the closure of St Augustine's in its present form.

Archbishop Nichols is planning to establish instead a purely Catholic secondary school. While no Anglican pupils would be expected to leave the school, future admissions would be restricted to Catholics.

The decision has provoked a battle between the Catholic Church and the local education authority which funds the voluntary-aided school. The school's governors and the Anglican board of education in the Oxford diocese also oppose the change.

The Bishop of Oxford, the Right Rev Richard Harries, said yesterday that he was bitterly disappointed by the decision.

NOTE :- This is how Catholics behave with Anglicans today. How, at heart, would they would like to treat the Hindus ?

6.2 THE MUSLIMS

6.2.1 HONOUR KILLINGS IN PAKISTAN

On 5 August 1999 Farhan Bokhari in Islamabad reported for the Financial Times

Pakistan Human Rights : Senate fails to condemn practice. Activists plan protest over 'honour killings. He says :-

Pakistan's independent human rights groups are planning to stage a demonstration tomorrow in protest against 'honour killings' whereby a father or brother kills a daughter or sister on suspicion of pre-marital relations with a male or when they refuse to be forced into an arranged marriage.

The failure of the senate this week to pass a resolution condemning the practice has triggered an outcry among rights activists.

The issue gained widespread publicity earlier this year when a young woman from northern Pakistan was killed in her lawyer's office, allegedly under a contract put out by her family. Samia Imran, the victim, had apparently refused to accept an arranged marriage and had sought legal assistance from Asma Jehangir, Pakistan's best known human rights lawyer.

Female activists lobbied Pakistan's senators, seeking a resolution to condemn Ms Imram's murder, but many of the senate who had earlier agreed to support the move backed out. The resolution was subsequently quashed in the upper house in the face of overwhelming opposition.

Farzana Bari, a sociology professor who represents 15 independent human rights and women's groups, said yesterday, " It s highly unfortunate that the so called custodians of the constitutional rights of the citizens are violating the constitution by upholding and reinforcing archaic tribal value systems, chauvinism, fanaticism and political expediency."

The scale of "honour killings" problem is not known precisely, as human rights activists say that many such killings go unreported because the right of a father or a brother to participate in the practice is usually supported in certain remote rural areas.

I.A Rehman, a senior member of the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan, Pakistan's independent human rights watchdog, said that his group knew of more than 200 suicides by women last year, though many were suspect.

" One woman slept at night and then was found dead the next morning, having eaten rat poison." he said, suggesting the victim had been poisoned.

Activists also say that plans by Nawaz Sharif, prime minister, to introduce new Islamic 'shariah' laws have intensified concerns for the rights of women.

They believe that elections to the Senate, which are due early next year, may give Mr Sharif's ruling Pakistan Moslem League a clear majority, allowing new laws, including the 'shariah' to be legislated.

NOTE :- Why don't the Indian newspapers print such news ?

6.2.2 HONOUR KILLINGS AMONG THE MUSLIMS IN ENGLAND

On 26 May 1999, the London based paper Metro reported : Girl who was murdered by her mother

Shakeela Naz, 45, and her eldest son Shazad, 22 from Derby, were found guilty of the murder of Rukhsana. 19, in March last year.

Nottingham Crown Court heard how Rukhsana was killed after she 'brought shame' on the family by having an affair and becoming pregnant. A second brother who also stood trial for the murder was acquitted. During the trial police statements were read out in which he said, ' I saw Shazad and Rukhsana on the floor. She was face down and he had a wire or rope around her neck and was pulling with all his force. My mum was holding her legs.'

The dead woman's sister, 19-year old Safina Naz who was the main prosecution witness against her own mother and brother, is understood to be caring for Rukhsana's two children from her marriage when 16 to a man living in Pakistan.

Evening Standard reported on 1 June 1999 (page 15)

Rukhsana, martyr to a cruel and barbaric tradition.

"... For one adulterous Muslim woman from Derby, it meant death - and a terrible death to the boot, inflicted by a mother and brother whose SENSE OF FAMILY HONOUR was so affronted that they murdered her. As grim and resolute as Goneril and Macbeth's wife, the mother who sat on her the girl's legs to contain her struggle, while the brother, who cuddled and comforted his sister as a child, put a noose around her neck and drew it tight - an incompetent Thug, for he took some minutes to achieve her death, a terrible eternity. The vile act, however, was much worse than simply this, for young Rukhsana Naz was seven months pregnant by her lover and this viable child was murdered too."

QUESTION :- with such high sense of family honour, why is it that Muslims all over Europe are scared stiff of the Nazis and Neo-Nazis ??

6.2.3 MUSLIMS DO NOT TOLERATE HINDU DHARMA, EVEN IN U.K, TODAY

On 5 July 1999 Mohammad Hoda, Secretary General of Muslim Welfare Association of Wembley, Middx wrote a letter to Mr Steve Lawrence, Chair of Governors, Pavitt Hall. The letter is self explanatory. It reads :-

We have noticed from 1st July 1999, that new tenants have moved in and have started a Hindu Temple next door to the Muslim Mosque.

As you know that the British ruled in India for over 200 years and respected the sentiments of the two conflicting philosophies and never allowed to exist side by side.

The Muslims believe and preach that, " THERE IS NO GOD, BUT ALLAH ( Who is one and cannot be seen ) AND PROPHET MOHAMMAD IS THE FINAL MESSENGER OF ALLAH."

The Hindu Community has a different belief, which is in direct conflict with the teaching of Islam. This is a very sensitive matter and we are receiving complaints from our round the clock attendees about 5000 on weekly basis who come from all parts of the World.

We had offered 2,000 pounds per month as against 1750 pounds per month by the Tamil Group. But the Governing body of Pavitt Hall preferred to give to Tamil Group. The Hall belongs to the Labour Party who are knowingly allowing a situation to develop that can only do more harm than good to the communities.

Historically, it has not been possible for differing religious beliefs and communities to practice side by side physically, take for example Catholics, Protestants, Jews, Hindus and Muslims.

If situation is allowed to continue, it can only cause public disorder and disturbance of peace. We, your next door neighbour, see that the Labour Party is instigating knowingly, the conflict between the peace loving multi faith communities on Ealing Road. This may alienate the Muslims from the Labour Party.

The letter was copied to Paul Boateng, M.P, Barry Gardiner M.P, Ken Livingstone M.P,  all the Brent Councillors and Police Commander Paul Green.

NOTE :- We always give high marks to Muslims for honesty. They utterly detest us Hindus and never hide their contempt. It is we, the Hindus who are still so thick headed and stupid.

6.3 CHRISTIANS - MUSLIM UNITY? DANGERS AHEAD FOR HINDUS

On 25 March 1999, the Daily Telegraph published two letters under the title

Hopes of Christian-Islamic links

. Bishop of Rochester Dr Nazir Ali wrote, " The visit by President Khatami of Iran to the Pope this month would have been unthinkable until recently, given Iran's seeming refusal to engage in dialogue across cultures and faiths. President Khatami's approach to contact with the churches has been cautious and gradual. He has had to overcome considerable opposition at home. It is no exaggeration to say that this visit has forever altered the landscape of Muslim-Christian relations, and begun a new era. ........ "

" The president has repeatedly called for dialogue between civilisations, centred on the affinity between Islam and the roots of Western civilisation. He identifies spirituality, liberty and justice as the three areas where the two systems are close. However, there is still a great need for dialogue in Iran."

" A new basis for human rights and responsibilities will emerge when Iranian people find the roots of justice and tolerance in the sources of Islam. This requires creative thinking about the 'Shar'ah' or Islamic Law. 'Ijtihad' or fresh enquiry, into the sources of faith - the 'Qur'an' and the 'Sunnah' - is necessary to construct a consensus for our own time. "

NOTE - both Islam and Christianity want to eliminate the Hindu Dharma. Any dialogue between the two spells disaster for us.

6.4 BOOKS BANNED IN THE ISLAMIC COUNTRIES

.

In the same issue of Daily Telegraph, Mr N J Dawood of West London wrote, " Your readers will be amused to hear that Egyptian censorship has just banned 70 books. They include Kahlil Gibran's ' The Prophet ' ( first published 76 years ago) Vladimir Nabokov's 'Lolita', as well as my own translation of the Koran. "

7 WORLD WAR II ATROCITIES : ONE LAW FOR EUROPE, ONE LAW FOR AFRICA.

An interesting letter appeared in the Times of 15 October 1999. Professor Richard Pankhurst of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia wrote :- WAR CRIMES.

Your correspondence on World War II war crimes ( October 11 ) and the questions that remain over whether Pope Pius XII did enough to condemn them prompt me to recall a no less remarkable matter. Allied unwillingness to try the Italian commander Marshal Pietro Badoglio, who had been responsible for the use of poison gas in Ethiopia in 1936.

To shield the Marshal, Ethiopia was excluded from the United Nations War Crimes Commission. Italian Fascists had been found guilty of many war crimes, as was abundantly evident from Ethiopian Ministry of Justice's two-volume Documents on Italian War Crimes ( Addis Ababa, 1949-50 ). But, because of Ethiopia's exclusion from the commission, not a single Italian Fascist was ever tried for such crimes.

8. UNBELIEVABLE HINDUS.

8.1 Preaching civility to the Hindus in a biography of Savarkar

Shivaram Laxman Karandikar was a well known disciple of Lokamanya Tilak. For some years he was also the editor of Tilak's paper 'Kesari' He wrote an excellent biography of Veer Savarkar in 1943. We find some incredible preachings to the Hindus in his preface ( pages 39/40 ).

Karandikar says, " I wish I could have been in touch with the relatives of Jackson ( Collector of Nasik, killed by Kanhere in 1909 ) Curzon Wyllie ( killed by Madanlal Dhingra in London in 1909 ). True, both Jakson and Wyllie infuriated Indians in their times. But, that is no reason for bearing any grudge against their relatives. We must learn to forget the unpleasant events of the past and look to the future."

" Suppose India becomes free tomorrow. And a Hindu went to London and paid homage to Dhingra in front of the Pentonville Prison. An Englishman would appreciate that. Similarly if an Englishman came to India and went to the Vijayanand Theatre of Nasik and said ' oh! this is the place of martyrdom of Jackson. We must admire him too."

" For us Indians, Aden - where Vasudev Balvant Phadake was transported and died in 1883, Andaman - where Savarkar and many others were sent of Transportation for life, Lahore Prison - where Vishnu Ganesh Pingale went to the gallows : such places will be places of pilgrimage. Similarly Muzzufarpur

( where two ladies of Kennedy family were accidentally killed ), Nasik ( where Jackson was killed ) and Tinavelli ( where Collector Ash was killed ) these will also become places of pilgrimage to the English. During a war, soldiers fight. But, when the war is over they respect each other's dead."

THIS IS UNBELIEVABLE. Even today, the English regard Indian revolutionaries as terrorists. In our previous Newsletters we have quoted from a book of Roy Jerkins ( former Chancellor of the Exchequer in a Labour Government ) - who regards Bhagat Singh as a common murderer, and the controversy about Udham Singh in the Labour Party in Southall, Middlesex - who regard Udham Singh as terrorist. AND yet Karandikar preached civility to us Hindus in 1943!!

For the record we have to state some facts --

* Collector Jackson was no Samaritan. Williams, the then Executive Engineer of Nasik whipped to death a poor bullock cart driver. Jackson shielded him. For this he paid with his life. He was buried in Nasik and no one had ever defaced the tombstone on his grave

* Collector Ash of Madras also was not a Samaritan. Some Indians wanted to start shipping lines. Ash strangled their enterprise.

* In his biography Karandikar admits that Dhingra's body was not cremated. It was still lying in a coffin buried within the premises of the Pentonville Prison, London in 1943. Udham Singh had suffered the same fate in 1940 in the same prison. But, Karandikar does not denounce the barbarity of the British and ask them to be civilised by allowing cremation of the bodies of these two. He preaches civility to the Hindus!!

* Let us go back 300 years.

In 1675 three disciples of Guru Teg Bahadur were tortured to death on the orders of Aurangzeb. Bhai Matidas was sawed from head to toe, Bhai Dayalal one was boiled like a potato, Bhai Satidas was burned to death. Despite such barbarity they refused to embrace Islam. Guru Teg Bahadur was then beheaded.

In 1689, Sambhaji son of Shivaji was blinded and hacked to death limb by limb in front of Auragnzeb. AND yet, no Maratha has ever thought of defacing the tomb of Aurangzeb. STILL Karandikar preaches civilised behaviour to the Hindus!!!

8.2 A Hindu Publisher thinks that Hindus automatically hate the Christians

In one of our past newsletters we mentioned the historic works of Babarao Savarkar, elder brother of Veer Savarkar. He wrote a book entitled 'Christ was a Hindu ( in Marathi )' Unfortunately, it was not printed during his lifetime. It was published some time in 1943. Copies of this book are no longer available. As a token of gratitude to Babarao, one of Godbole's friends reprinted the book in 1999. However, in his preface he says on page 3," If Hindus realise that Jesus Christ was a Hindu they will not hate the Christians!!. That is my reason for publishing this book."
